The location of the hotel is absolutely terrific - right next to the river. We went in winter but I would imagine in summer it would be beatiful as they have a lovely outside terrace. The rooms are very modern and clean and I couldn't fault breakfast. (97489352)

The only thing that let the hotel down was that on occasions there was a lack of
service from the staff. We asked to order a drink from the
bar and was told to sit and someone would b with us, but 0 minutes later we were still waiting. A similar thing happened at
breakfast, but apart from this the hotel was excellent and I would definately go back...

Despite the not so friendly staff at reception, we enjoyed our stay in the hotel. It is well situated and well appointed and a lovely environment to stay in. Good value for money and very nice food. (97697171)

the hotel is very stylish and elegant. it is located in a
lovely garden close to the
river Cam. The room had
nice views and was nicely decorated,
clean and provided many
facilities.

The staff at
reception were not particularly
friendly or
helpful. First we walked a long way to our room only to find that the keys did not work so we had to walk back to ask for new ones. No apology or anything was given - just new keys. Second, when we checked out we were overcharged for
breakfast. The amount was adjusted when we pointed out the error, but again, no apology for their mistake.

A pleasent hotel with nice views from the rooms and resteraunt. However we were given a badly placed table for dinner as our table position was changed while we were waiting to be seated. (99131047)

Well positioned.Pleasent outlook.

Evening meal
poor and overcooked.Staff command of English
poor.

Rather nice modern hotel, although slightly difficult to find. Considering the price of the rooms found it a bit of a cheek to charge £5 a day for parking !
on the whole a very good hotel with excellent staff. (99508020)

very
clean , modern looking hotel with excellent staff.

bed and pillows looked very inviting but were rather too hard.

The point I want to make here is the service at brekfast. When we were seated it took around 15 minutes for any staff to ask us if we wanted tea or coffee then 10 minutes for them not to bring it and me to ask again.A few minutes later the coffee arrived but no tea, we tried to ask someone who seemed senior but they just mutterd something about it being busy and walked off, at this point we left.I appriciate its only a cup of tea but it's the little things that make an okey hotel a good hotel. Asides from the tea debacle the hotel is good; very good even and I would recommend that people stay there. (99649865)

The major selling point for this hotel is its rooms, they are the most attractive I have stayed in for the
price, very
nice.

Location is biggest advantage. Staff are great and very helpful and friendly. Rooms are OK, clean and adequate, the Crown Executive room had plenty of room for a couple just maybe lacking a bit of character but this is not a character hotel. Ideal base for a short break to get out and about to visit Cambridge. (99375088)
Great location on
river and within very close walking distance to all that
Cambridge offers.

Main
bar and lounge was being refurbished alternative
bar set up in a conference room which was somewhat lacking character.

the exec suite was lovely. especially liked the peace and quiet. the view was really pretty to wake up to.
the room was warm, inviting, clean, really well decorated. the bed and pillows were very comfortable and we loved the turn-down service and chocolate boxes.
it was a very relaxing hotel & the staff were helpful and very polite. also, the location is perfect, in a quiet spot right on the river but still in town.
lastly, i had a massage at the spa which was the perfect way to relax. the spa staff were really nice and it was lovely to be able to go directly from my massage straight to the room to relax on the balcony.
Thank you for a very relaxing weekend. (99706860)

the peacefulness. thick walls,
lovely view of the
river. apparently the hotel was fully booked but we did not feel like there were too many people in the
bar, lifts, terrace and we didn't hear our neighbouring rooms.

the coffee at the terrace
bar was dreadful.

THE BEST ASPECT WAS THE VIEW OF THE GARDEN.THE PRICES CHARGES WERE TO EXPENSIVE IN OUR VIEW PARTICULARLY CHARGES FOR A SANDWICH AND TWO DRINKS. MOST EXPENSIVE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. RENOVATIONS TAKING PLACE AND THEREFORE ACCESS WAS FROM THE REAR.ROOM WAS ORDINARY. (99209369)

VERY
LITTLE
BALCONY OUTSIDE OUR WINDOW WAS DIRTY AND HAD NOT BEEN SWEPT. BUTTS ON GROUND

A
little chaotic during rennovations.
Restaurant food mediocre.
Bruce from Berkhamsted, Herts, United Kingdom;GB (Mature couple) 15 July 2006
Whilst appreciating that some renovation is taking place, we thought some areas were not as clean-looking as they might have been, and that leaving linen trolleys in the corridors until quite late in the afternoon didn't give a very good impression and should be avoided if possible. (3304861290)

Because it was a rather warm night and your new aircon system is not yet fully installed, we were able to have the door to the balcoy (?) open to keep us cool.

The
food service in the
bar was extremely slow.

We are regular traveller. We had different experience staying in Cambridge Garden House. It was a comfortable and relaxing stay. The view offered an extra relaxing time. The facilities the way they are stretched inside and outside the hotel provided good choice. The hotal was a place that after an enjoable time in the beautiful city of canbridge to lookforward to go back to. The staff were very polite and friendly and helpful. (3304804426)

We had a very enjoyable and
friendly experience of our stay in the hotel. The room was very
comfortable. It was first class looking on to to the
river cambridge with its punting
facilities. The hotel offered different
facilities including sitting
area outside. Weather being so
nice it was a huge advantage offering extra relaxing time. We enjoyed our stay with a
friendly service.

There was not anything that we could say that we disliked.

Hotel chosen for lack of traffic noise and this was greatly appreciated. However this makes noise from other rooms even more obvious.Hotel currently undergoing reburbishment and drilling just below our bedroom at 8.30 was not appreciated after a late-check in.Air-conditioning would provide 'white noise' and overcome other guests noise but I don't know if this is included in the reburbishment. clean. Pretty outlook.Warm room.

The hotel is very well equipped and the rooms are lovely. The leisure facilities were very good, the only problem was the steam room wasn't working when I was there. Can't comment on food as didn't get up in time for breakfast but the hotel bar was open really late and in line with normal hotel prices ie bit more expensive than bar. The riverside location means great scenery, and its close to a lot of bars resturants etc but away from the main road so best of both worlds as its not too noisy but still convenient. (2920195)

Parking facility really appreciated and very good
location (riverside).
Price /
Value relation. We got probably the tiniest double room available - window facing the road. 100 Pounds a bit too
expensive for that on a Friday.

The
view from the window and the light coming in from the
river as we arrived were quite delightful. The design and
location of the hotel are wonderful, and the staff were charming.

The receptionist who greeted us did not smile - and she created a
poor initial impression which was a shame as we enjoyed the rest of our stay.

Hotel difficult to find, unless you know Cambridge. However it's location by the river and close to Pembroke College was excellent. The ability to check in early was good for me, and arrangements for check out were excellent. I will definitely use this hotel again. (2759171)

Room was good size, bed good size and
bathroom good size. The
view over the
river was suberb. Would definitely return
