A very pleasant location with excellent value for money. (97402807)

negative comments would have been good to have a different selection of food in the bar area when compared to the restaurant

Apart from our experience which the restaurant and the food, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had a nice and relaxing break, which was what we wanted. (97983261)

positive comments Lovely room with beautiful views. Helpful staff and we really enjoyed the facilities offered i.e. swimming pool, steam rooms etc
negative comments The food and service of the food was poor. The food was priced as top quality, but we did not feel the food did not warrant the price. We ended up waiting half an hour for our order to be taken and overall spent 2 hours to have a meal which was just a starter and main course with A LOT of waiting in between. However the managers were very understanding and apologetic and the bill for the meal was wavered. A complimentary bottle of champagne was sent to our room as well with apologies, so we were very satisfied with how the situation was professionally dealt with!

The hotel is in beautiful surroundings and the room was large and inviting, if a little tired. If you want to use the facilities on site it may be worth checking with the hotel that they will be open as they are doing regeneration work (3305030376)

positive comments Beautiful surroundings, relaxing enviroment. Good gym and swimming pool
negative comments The room we had looked a little tired and in need of some TLC! The gym was closed for building works and we were not informed of this at any point in our stay, until we tried to use it!
Poor
Ian from Doncaster, United Kingdom;GB (Family with young children) 27 July 2006

The service in the eden bistro was appalling. We booked a table with preference of an outside table, when we went downstairs there were none avaliable so we had to sit inside. After a few minutes I had to visit the gents, as i went outside a couple arrived with no booking and were seated outside as some one had just left with no consideration for us. A few minutes later we had to leave as the temperature inside was too much for my pregnant wife and young son. We left walked outside and there were two empty tables which we sat in. The food was great but no one had considered even to let us know that there was a free table. You will not be seeing us there again....... (3305044033)

positive comments The area and grounds
negative comments The room did not have air con and we were in the rof area so the room was very hot at night.

Poor and confused service at breakfast although the young staff were were helpful and polite.Food in bistro overpriced.Room was quiet and clean. Leisure facilities were good.Earlier comments notwithstanding, a relaxing and pleasant experience - all in all, an enjoyable stay. (3304551615)

looked forward to the break. slightly disappointed that room was not ready on arrival, though the receptionist was very helpful and curtious. thought a complimentary drink while we had to wait would'nt have gone a miss. generally though we had an excellant stay and would recommend to our friends and family. thank you for a nice stay. positive comments very nice room and comfortable bed.
negative comments parking always seemed very full at night.

joanna from bourne end, United Kingdom;GB (Mature couple) 03 November 2005

Great location, good rooms and facilites but hotel has bery small launge with no bar where the guests can spend the evening and talk. Preference at beauty rooms and restaurants seems to be given to local trade and not hotel guests. It is not acceptable to me to be turned away from hotel restaurants and be force to spend monmey on taxi to Bath centre to eat. Eden restaurant is not something I would recommend to anyone - disappinting and pretentious food with no focus and at high prices. However, we did enjoy the stay. (2862251)

positive comments Great lcoation and view from the room were fantastic. Good facilities at the country club although were not able to aceess any pof the beauty treatments - no prefernce is given to the Hotel guests
negative comments Quality of food at Eden restaurant was disappointing - pretentious presentation and poor quality at very high prices. Georgian restaurant where the food cost same as in Eden was worth the money. What was disappointing was that the hotel had no priority for the guests - a number of whom could not get a booking at the Georgian restaurant nor even the disappointing Eden.

I have to walk with a stick but was not told that there was so many stairs we stayed in room No 41 (Combe Grove Manor) which could not be higher or further than the main building (2801860)

positive comments outstanding view
negative comments Found that getting in and out of the bath dangerous as the bath seemed set very high my wife slipped and badly bruised the back of her leg

We were very impressed by the size and cleanliness of the room, there is also a wide range of facilites to be used, offering excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful in every aspect. Beautiful grounds. We would certainly return (2809482)

positive comments Excellent value for money, with lots of facilities

margaret from caersws, United Kingdom;GB (Mature couple) 09 October 2005

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel and would book again. The breakfast was very nice and well presanted as well as the staff. The hotel was located in an ideal place for easy access into bath, and it was nice to know there was plenty of parking, which is not very easy to come by in bath. Next time we hope to book for a few nights so we can enjoy the facilities that the hotel had to offer. We found the staff very welcomeing, Well done. (2792519)

positive comments The size of the room, and the out look over the gardens.
negative comments I felt the rooms althou clean and spacious, needed up dateing, and the walls were thin, I could hear next door switching their lights on and off.

The hotel was set in beautiful grounds with a wonderful view across the valley. The hotel itself was very clean and well kept and the staff were efficient and very friendly. The leisure club facilities were excellent and the food was to a very high standard making it an ideal location for a getaway with no need to leave the hotel site. (2705970)

positive comments Lovelly views, spacious room, great facilities.
negative comments Slight delay in service at breakfast but think this was probably a one off.

i cannot remember if balconys were mentioned in the reservation form. parking was limited in front of the rooms, not a big problem, but if it had been raining it would have been a different matter.the surrounding grounds and woodland could have some super walks/nature trails etc in them.they seem to be more of a problem to you than the asset they should be!i would love to have the oppurtunity to develop them,as a diverse organic area ...free range hens, vegatable plots under the trees, bee hives ,charcoal production.etc etc. (2652738)

positive comments lovely surroundings and location, friendly staff, and good facilities.
negative comments rooms a little in need of redecoration, shower in our room very poor.

The hotel was comfortable and generous - we were upgraded even though we were on a special internet offer. Dinner was good but we thought the wine a bit pricey at over £5.00 a glass! Waitresses were excellent. (2651038)

positive comments beds were comfortable, view was wonerful, facilities generally very good.
negative comments umbrellas avilable to move between buildings.
