Great hotel in a good location. Excellent value for money and highly recommended. (97747784)
Friendly reception at check-in, attractively decorated room with spacious en-suite
bathroom, good quality leisure facilties, despite being opposite
Victoria station it was very
quiet and I slept soundly.

Good hotel, handy location, good service and nice staff. Unusual for a London hotel!! (97251363)

Good as ever.
Clean with
friendly staff some of whom I have got to know quite well , this enhances the quality of the stay

Ongoing problem actually receiving the newspaper that you
order . This minor but annoying point defies belief. Even after reporting the non appearance of the paper still nothing happens. Why oh why is this such a problem!!!

This hotel is in an excellent position for public transort and within walking distance of many tourist attractions. The staff were very
helpful offering us a discount
breakfast if pre-booked which was good as would not have paid the
price quoted on line as would have used local coffee shops instead. Also an alternative method of transport for our party of four to Heathrow was suggested by the concierge which worked out well and was appreciated on very wet miserable day. We will return.
Julie from Sandwich, GB (Group of adult friends) 15 November 2007
The location of the hotel was excellent for the station and the underground, On my reservation it said City View which we didn't get the view was dreadful so the thick voil curtains were a bonus. The staff were all very helpful and friendly which was nice. The bar was quite busy late in the evening so that made a nice atmosphere and the staff did not make you feel rushed and unwanted. The breakfast was extra we didn't book when reserving the room as £14.50 seemed a little pricey but we were offered a discounted rate at check-in so we paid £10 and it was a nice varied choice.
Overall the hotel was better than expected and I will be staying there again. (97725480)

The hotel was
clean and
modern, flat screen tv in the bedroom and a
nice clean bathroom, tea and coffee making in the room was a bonus.

The only thing to dislike was the
view which was onto a scruffy building site and rear of other buildings.

For the cost of the room I would ahve expected a better room. It was small, had a rail with hangers on the wall as a wardrobe and can only be described as very basic. Certinaly not value for money (99155818)

Overall, a great location outweighed the negatives that I have of this hotel. It's a very impersonal hotel, but then you don't want someone on your heels all the time asking about how things are. (3305466924)

Bathroom facilities needed a

The one thorn in our side during our stay was the cost of 2 outgoing calls we placed to the States and Scotland. All other stops on our trip charged small hook-up fee for long distant calls. Hesperia charged us 86 british pounds for the 2 calls of short duration. I was told just call direct after not being able to connect to our service provider like most hotels. The hotels markup of these calls, and their response afterward was less than satisfying. I checked out other Hotels close by for my next trip. If you book DON'T USE THE PHONE!!! (3304780595)
Location great.

One detail regarding outgoing phone call
Pablo from Santander, Spain;ES (Solo business traveller) 25 August 2006

Lance from Alexandria, United States;US (Mature couple) 10 August 2006
Directly across the street from Victoria Rail Station and Gatwick Express Service. Excellent Indian Restaurant just down the street.
The flip side of being close to the train station is if you are a very light sleeper, you may notice the occasional public address announcement--it didn't bother us but if you listen for it, you can hear it. The trains, by the way are practically silent. (3305103696)

Excellent
location for
Gatwick Travelers!

80p per minute for local calls seemed a bit steep.
Nigel from Waterlooville, United Kingdom;GB (Mature couple) 05 August 2006
Check in only received a fair rating because the desk clerk appeared distracted and didn't listen to my answers to his questions. Also, despite requesting a non-smoking room, we hadn't been allocated one. We were, however, given one when we queried it.
Beyond that, the room was well presented, clean and spacious. The restaurant staff were polite and efficient and the food was excellent for both the evening meal we had on the first night and the breakfast on the second morning.
Check out procedure was efficient and polite.
Overall an enjoyable stay. This was our second stay in this hotel and reinforced the good impression made previously. (3305109968)

All in all we enjoyed our stay at the Hesperia Hotel. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped with complementary toiletries etc.We had a room on the 6th floor at the back overlooking the roof tops behind the Hotel. It was very quiet and we got a good nights sleep. We would have liked to know that there was a shuttle bus from Heathrow Airport direct to the Hotel at a reasonable charge. This would have saved us a lot of time on the underground.Otherwise we had a great stay at the Hesperia Hotel. (3304679193)

The
Hesperia Hotel was very
central in
London adjacent to
Victoria Station.It was very
clean throughout.The
Breakfast which we paid extra for,was very good. The Hotel lobby, dining room and lounge had
air conditioning. This was very pleasant in light of the 30c + temp.over
London on the weekend in question. The overall
value was good for such a
central London Hotel. The staff were very pleasant and helpfull. We will stay there again.

I can think of nothing that we disliked.

The room was well equipped, clean and very quiet. The location is excellent, especially if you have to travel to Gatwick. The staff were helpful and friendly. My only complaint was that the room was a little tight and it seems to be a general problem on the 8th and 9th floors where the balconies reduce the room area. Overall a good hotel to choose if you want to stay near Victoria. (3304473568)

Nice clean hotel, very quite for its location. Will stay there again! (3304641275)

Room was not as
small as other
London hotel. Also, it was
modern modern and appealing than others.

Not nearly enough electrical outlets. Only one in the room worked with my US adapter.
Internet connection did NOT work on 3rd floor, not even with adapter I received at reception desk. Also: Reception desk would not deal with my reservation details, I was told to call a number. English
breakfast is TWICE as expensive as it should be, so is Laundry
service. 6.50 GBP for a shirt when I can get it for 2 GBP around the corner?

This is a good central London hotel in an excellent position by Victoria Station. The hotel is clean, modern with good facilities. The bedrooms have excellent private facilities in good working order. The staff are professional but friendly. The restaurant staff are very helpful. We have stayed at this hotel twice to compete in the London Marathon and on both occasions have put a special early breakfast on Sunday morning. They give you early access to your bedrooms if they can and let you use the leisure facilities after you have checked out. I would recommend this hotel and will stay here again. (3304104970)
