Staff courteous and efficient. Hotel clean and good value for money; very handy for St Pancras station. We would not stay at the hotel again unless we were allocated a room on the ground floor. (97505791)

Cleanliness, accessibility of mainline trains,
helpful staff.

Climbing
stairs with heavy suitcases was a problem for us.
IAN from GRANTHAM, GB (Mature couple) 25 April 2008
The reception was very helpful, The room is fine but the bathroom needs a good clean and some maintaince, The breakfast is very good, Staff fine. (97710070)

Its so close to
Kings cross station.
Bathroom needed a good
clean.
michael from renfrewshire, GB (Group of adult friends) 13 April 2008
Great location, very nice staff, room and beds very clean, also bathroom was a very good size, with a bath and shower, which worked a treat.Dining/bar area seemed good aswell, cant say anything about the breakfast as we had no intention of getting up for it:),as there are very good cafes in the vicinity.
Will use again and would recommend it to anyone. (97701937)

Proximity to
kings cross and euston stations, which are ideal for getting around
London.

There was nothing to dislike.
Anonymous (Group of adult friends) 08 April 2008
Better than expected as negative reviews made me anxious however I feel you could address some of the repetative negative points that are fed back! WD40!!! (97507648)

Able to accommodate a family of 5!!!

Not enough pillows, creaky
beds and doors, double bed was a camp bed,
poor quality mattresses,
noise from
underground at night
Anonymous (Mature couple) 13 March 2008
It fitted a need which was proximity to the station.
It would have helped to know about car parking - the nearest/cheapest
The room was in the basement so we needed to keep the cutains closed as it looked on to the main street.
Breakfast was disappointing. They did not have some basic cooking equipment that would have made a difference, eg no toaster - there was a pile already cooked that was going cold and damp (97846547)

It was very handy for St
Pancras station. Staff were good

It was a basement room with a step down to get into the
bathroom. The extractor fan in the
bathroom was very noisy. the decor was 70's originals. The food fo rbreakfast was dry and not always
hot. The full
english breakfast was
poor.

Carpets very stained.
TV reception not good.
Reception staff were dressed too casually - tracksuite.
Reception staff were helpful though.
Room was relatively clean but very old and creaky.
Breakfast was good. (97396445)
Breakfast was quite good

Room was terrible. Staff were very casual.

on arrival my wife and i were alocated a double room with ensuite facilities the bathroom door was broken the toilet didnt flush and the room in general unpleasant we asked to be changed to another which was better but was a twin room luckily we only needed a bed for the night and didnt really have to spend much time in the hotel so for that reason alone it was just adequate on returning back to hotel at night we had to go to a bar a short distance away for a drink so i dont think we will return. breakfast good though!!! I found the hotel to be handy for transport. And the surrounding area had an excellent choice of pubs and eateries to suit most tastes. (97054861)
Clean and tidy

Perhaps an extra pillow on the
beds.That apart it was OK.

I would have liked more precise information with regard to the payment of the Congestion Charge. Directions for payment were very vague and quite inadequate from the hotel. I had never experienced a congestion charge before, always previously travelling to the City by train. We were looking for a functional hotel and this fulfilled that requirement. It was close to our first call in the morning and was extremely quiet at night. (97310620)

It was

Staff were freindly but hotel needs a thorough clean. (97192795)

Staff were
friendly, Book in & out was efficient.
Shower was filthy, it was hanging from an unfinished ceiling & the drainhole was blocked with hair and debris, this took ages to soak away. the towel rail had come off the wall and was left on top of the wardrobe. Also no
hot water in the sink early in the morning.

Maybe I am out of touch with London prices and standards, but what I saw on the website and what we got is not the same. Overall it was not to bad despite my comments above and your staff were really friendly and always prepared to assist.
A vending machine in the hotel with some snacks/cigarettes would be nice. (97402570)

Close to King's
Cross station and the
breakfast. Also the tea/coffee with milk in the room were very welcome.

Very
small rooms, no extra blankets, no chairs in room, no burglar proof to protect when you open the windows for fresh air while you sleep. Carpets appears old and suspectedly dirty, creaky wooden floors in some places, noises in the passage disturbing during the night.
Anonymous (Young couple) 17 October 2007
This hotel is a good value cheap and cheerfull no frills hotel. Its not hostel standard or hilton standard, however as a place to stay for the night at a good price it is spot on. The breakfast was superb and the staff freindly. (97757320)

This hotel is 1 minutes walking distance from
kings cross, and a 5 minute taxi ride to theatre land.

There are a lot of
small staircases which would not suit older people, however this did not bother us.
Anonymous (Solo business traveller) 28 September 2007
Overall, I wouldn't stay here again because although the price is cheap I felt that the standards of cleanliness and quality of the accommodation were very disappointing. (97878478)

The
location of this hotel is
great - right opposite
Kings Cross Station
The layout of the hotel - narrow staircases etc makes it very difficult for anyone with mobility difficulties and / or lots of
luggage. It did say on the website that a non smoking room could not be guaranteed so I was prepared for this, but the room and everything in it smelt smokey and musty. Also the room had no windows apart from a sky light and was extremely
small. This coupled with the fact that the room was right down in the basement made the room feel a bit like a cell.
Anonymous (Solo business traveller) 05 June 2007
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean although the carpet was very worn. The buffet breakfast was well stocked. However, I was very much put out by not having net curtains in the room as this meant I had to keep curtains closed to have privacy. For this reason I would hesitate to recommend the hotel outright. (99922677)

It was
clean and quietly situated, yet very close to King's
Cross Station. Good security in place.
Breakfast buffet well stocked.

The carpet was worn. There was no net curtain so you needed to have curtains closed and lights on in order to have privacy during the day.

This hotel is quite nice in comparison to others however its main attraction is value for money. It is also in a prime location near a major station and therefore is ideal for travellers. The breakfast has a wide variety and is lovely.
The hotel could do with a little improvement with regards to decor however there are no major problems and equipment works well. Staff are friendly and helpful and hotel policy is fair. I would recommend this hotel, and although my stay was short it was an enjoyable one. (99153682)
