Although the location was in a relatively good location, in a safe neighborhood it was very difficult to find after a days outing. The hotel should provide a map that enables guests to find the hotel easily.
The bed was a little worn out and since this is the bulk of what I am paying for, I would expect a more comfortable bed and one that did not give me the impression that it was 6-7 years old. The shower was very good, but the shower head sprayed water all over the bathroom. This just needed some maintenance. Overall impression was that it is adequate for the price and European standards. (97656866)
Location,Price
Small room, bed was old and uncomfortable.
Ann from Kings Langley, GB (Solo leisure traveller) 08 May 2008
Having no comforters like tea-making facilities in room. Without the option of room service it means that the hotel rates below a cheap b&b for comfort. And in English, the tv only offered football. Very sparse. (97227598)

Staff were
friendly and helpful.

Too
hot. Didn't like to
open window on ground floor. And couldn't have as traffic
noise was very disruptive. Room wasn't adequately soundproofed.
Bob from Helsinki, FI (Mature couple) 06 May 2008
Dispite some minuses, all in all a pleasent surprise. However would strongly suggest modernizing the TV:s. (97604220)

The
location of the hotel with excellent connections, close to Oxford Street, Queensway and Hyde
Park, the order and cleanliness of the room was very good, excellent breakfest,
friendly staff.

What we did not like:
a)
Small out of date TV with bad antenna = distorted or unclear picture with few channels. b) the
shower did not work properly

It was not the first time I stayed at this hotel and previously had not been too pleased with the service and had several problems with the rooms (ie. shower not working, phone not working, tv not working) This time, however, I was VERY pleased with everything. I think they really are making an effort to update everything...and everything was fine. (97515270)

Most of the staff was very
friendly and extremely attentive. The
breakfast had a good selection of food. It is very close to the subway and in a
nice area. Rooms are
clean and pretty silent.
bathroom towels had a peculiar smell to them (softner would have been
nice)

If we could have viewed correctly the type of room on offer What exactly three star hotel means. That no tea/coffee facilites are available in room. That housekeeping enquiries can't be dealt with after 6 pm. (97372062)

hot water No
tea/
coffee facilities in room

Overall the hotel was in a nice location and had friendly staff. Breakfast was basic, but it was adequate and well topped up no matter what time you came down. The main reason why we would not come back to this hotel is because we did not get great nights sleep from the noise of the trains and or lifts. (99463065)

The bedroom was nicely furnished and we found the bed
nice and
comfortable. The hotel was within a short walking distance to two
underground stations giving
great access to the city. Also the
reception staff were helpful and had a
great sense of humour.

The room we were in was right across the lifts on level 2 (room 201), which you could
hear everyone coming and going. We could
hear either the
underground trains or the
noise from the lifts in our room (can’t really decide which one it was), so the room wasn’t that well sound proofed – not a
great sleep. The
shower was that
small, when you turned on the
shower, water would spray out at you before you could get in. Plus you could not adjust the spray height levels which was really annoying if you’re short!

I HAD READ SOME BAD REVIEWS ABOUT THIS HOTEL AFTER I HAD ALREADY BOOKED IT. BUT I CAN HONESTLY SAY MY STAY WAS GREAT. THE ENTRANCE TO HOTEL WAS IMPRESSIVE,STAFF VERY NICE, ROOM WAS BIG WITH A DOUBLE BED AND A SINGLE,BATHROOM LOVELY EVERYTHING WAS CLEAN,BREAKFAST WAS CONTINENTAL, NICE VARIETY,ON CHECKOUT WE LEFT OUR BAGS IN STORAGE SO WE COULD ENJOY OUR DAY IN LONDON PICKED THEM UP LATER IN DAY.VERY GOOD LOCATION NEAR TO STATION,VERY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY,WOULD HAPPILY STAY THERE AGAIN,AND WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. The pictures on the site gave a good idea of the style of accomodation. I had seen the hotel from the outside and it looked a lot tidier than many others in the area at the same price.
An adequate breakfast was an additional bonus.
Again only a cold shower let the overall experience down. (99559475)

The hotel was good value for money: clean, reasonably spacious room with ensuite; decent continental breakfast; handy location for travel around London. (99625083)

continental breakfast was quite decent,
location was OK -- close to both Lancaster Gate and

near Paddington station.

Needs airconditioning because when it's

ON THE WHOLE THIS HOTEL WAS VERY CLEAN AND WELL RUN. THE ROOM ITSELF WAS MUCH SMALLER THAN WE HAD ANTICIPATED BUT WAS ADEQUATE FOR OUR NEEDS. AS MENTIONED ABOVE THE DINING ROOM DOES NOT SEEM BIG ENOUGH FOR THE NUMBER OF GUESTS. THE CLOSE PROXIMITY TO CENTRAL LONDON MADE UP FOR THE SHORTFALLS MENTIONED AND WE WOULD DEFINITELY STAY AGAIN, EVEN WITH THE RUMBLING UNDERGROUND! (2419853)

THE CLOSE PROXIMITY TO HYDE
PARK AND
CENTRAL LONDON
BREAKFAST FACILITIES TOO
SMALL FOR NUMBER OF
GUESTS. WE MISSED
BREAKFAST ON OUR SECOND DAY OWING TO THE LONG QUEUE WAITING. THE
SHOWER DOOR COULD NOT BE CLOSED PROPERLY AND THE
SHOWER TRAY DID NOT DRAIN AWAY QUICK ENOUGH TO ENABLE YOU TO HAVE A PROPER
SHOWER (ROOM 202)I THINK THE PROVISION OF
TEA AND
COFFEE MAKING FACILITIES WOULD BE A
GREAT IMPROVEMENT AND TWO PILLOWS PER PERSON WOULD BE BETTER.

Close to the
Paddington Underground &
train station the latter of which provides Express (every 15 mins)
Train service to the Heathrow Airport.
However, the slight drawback to hotels close to an nderground
station is that one can
hear and feel a rumbling
noise from the bedroom very time a
train passes through.

1) Add fruits (e.g., bananas and oranges) to
Continental Breakfast provided.
2) Lower
shower head to avoid water spaying over the
shower curtain when taking a bath.

Photos on picture gallery showed very spacious double room which is one of the reasons we chose this hotel but when the staff eventually found our online reservation we found ourselves in a single room which had had a double bed put in(the single headboard attached to the wall gave the game away!!). No hooks for hanging anything especially in the bathroom. Room was quite stuffy even though it was cold outside. Breakfast was a bit chaotic with the dining room being far too small for the amount of guests being catered for at that time of day. Overall the hotel was clean and tidy and ideally situated for our needs. (2180871)
