Overall, the staff were friendly and attentive. However, we found the chef overbearing and more concerned with his own importance than the wishes of the guest! Even the staff thought he was over the top!! (97346523)

Staying in what was obviously a genuinely old chateau. Surroundings were quiet and peaceful.

Repro furniture in our room was disappointing. Pictures in the room were of English Castles and Stately homes, not French similar. We found this very odd.

We found the information given prior to our stay to be accurate, possibly understated, but this is in no way a criticism. The entire setting, gardens etc are just what one would expect from a chateau. The history and elegance is in now way compromised by the staff or management. We have recommended this hotel to everyone we know as it is an ideal getaway for a romantic break, total chill out and a chance to taste the finer things in life. (97961588)

Le choix des thés était très limité et il manquait du beurre salé. Pour la salle de bains, il faudrait un pare-douche.

This was an excellent hotel. They looked after us very well. The owners and staff where magificent. The rooms are very comfortable. We wanted to stay longer. the food was grea. It is a great location for a restful stay. we strongly recommend it for a long or short stay. My wife wants to go back again and again. We strongly recommend!!!!!! The location and look of the hotel were fantastic for a relaxing break. The food was first class and the accommodation clean and elegant without being too fussy. on arriving at the chateaux we were very pleasantly surprised ,it was so picturesque.. the owners and staff were all so helpfull nothing was to much trouble for them .our room was excellent and so was the food ..the only negative was that it could be better sign posted from riberac as it is a good five miles outside of riberac, which caused us and possibly other guests some confusion..overall rating was excellent.. We were very warmly welcomed by one of our hosts who made us feel most at home. There was an aura of total peace and calm throughout our stay which was very welcome after our drive from the south of France. The bedroom was beautifully furnished and the comfort of the bed is very hard to describe, just bliss. Our delicious evening meal was served with an old fashioned charm, nothing was too much bother. It was an evening that will live long in our memories. Breakfast being served until 11.30a.m. was just perfect and served yet again by a most amiable lady.The Chateau stands in many acres of land and therefore gives wonderful views from every window, for such an elegant building homeliness and a lived in feel seems to abound. We wished that we were staying another night and would certainly hope to return. Many thanks to our hosts for giving us such a wonderful time at the end of our holiday. Keep up the good work. This was a fantastic place to unwind and the owners made us very welcome. If you are looking for tranquility this is the place for you. They also unusually for french hotels do a vegetarian menu alongside the normal french cuisine. We are looking forward to returning in the future. (3304515422)

When booking i might of wanted to know that the owners can speak English as well as French, as when i booked online i had to contact them direct and not being able to use a lot of French i was very scared of ringing. Coming from Riberac the sign posting is very poor to the hotel. The holiday to us was very special, its very rare that you ever find a holiday that ticks the right boxes, and we did, its as simple as that. wonderful stay, my only point would be to get some children activities, like maybe a table tennis,or out door darts, or boules, or crocket, just some surgestions, but a fantastic time. It was my wife's birthday so a one night stay plus excellent dinner- together with our daughter and her partner who live a few kilometres away from us here in SW France. Friendly yet efficient staff, particularly the owner and his partner. Amazing eclectic yet effective furniture and fittings. 10 bedrooms but 2 large salons in which to relax.....or tinkle on the grand piano. (3304133001)

I was looking for a spcial place for a special event. January is a difficult time being out of season so not knowing anything about the hotel & area it was a risk. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The welcome by the owner was warm and we felt at home immediately and throughout the stay. We only stayed one nite but it was as if the hotel was our own. The oners couldn't do enough for us. I never stay anywhere twice but feel I should go back as they deserve to be successful and for people to return. Highly recommended! (3304135839)

The area is beautiful - like Devonshire without the traffic. The chateau has been restored with such care and taste. The owners were charming - we felt like honoured guests in their beautiful home. If we visit the area again we will certainly stay at the chateau and would have no hesitation in recommending a visit. (2932048)

The setting, the luxury. Huge bathroom, huge bedroom with an extremely comfortable four poster bed. Views of the grounds. Roaring fire in the petit salon where we had pre-dinner drinks - very cosy after a full day driving round the area. Had we wished to take advantage of the offer we could have made telephone calls home at no cost.

Bergerac is an ideal airport to travel to as it is small enough to avoid any of the hassles of the larger airports.The chateau is only just over an hour away by car.The owners could not have been more kind and made an enjoyable holiday into a memorable one.The chateau has been beautifully restored in the last three years,the rooms are exquisite and the new swimming pool in frequent use..The cooking was superb and together with a good wine list what more do you need. Very quiet and peaceful château. Staff is nice. Unlike most châteaux in France, the rooms are very modern which is a plus. You have the feeling of autrefois but with modern COMFORTABLE bed and bathroom! (2350466)
