Since we chose the hotel because it had pool facilities, it was an upsetting experience to find one swimming pool being filled with a single hosepipe for more than 3 days, and another pool with neither filtration nor heating, and a jacuzzi simply emptied. (97877736)

positive comments Dining room service and table presentation was excellent
negative comments Facilities of heated outdoor pool, heated indoor pool and jacuzzi were all unavailable/out of order/out of service throughout our stay

We had booked for the Cliffeside Hotel but ended up being moved to the next door hotel - The Suncliff which was lovely. We were luckly enough to have a sea view room which was excellent. The staff were lovely considering we had to wait for the AA and they were happy for us to stay and wait in the warm - I would definately go back again when we next visit Bournmouth I will look out for special last minute offers. The leisure facilities looked lovely although this time we did not have time to use them (97217442)

positive comments The sea view and comfy chairs to sit on and look out to sea
negative comments Nothing - everything was likeable, including all staff!!

We got an internet deal which worked out £26.50 a night each and were upgraded to a sea view room so couldn't really complain for the price and location. I would say though that it's more of a functional hotel, it doesn't have much character, not helped by dingy carpetting / interior and decorators there upon arrival, although perhaps this might be different in the summer when the pool is in use and it was a nice view when dining. There were a couple of friendly staff, mainly the receptionists and cleaners, but bar man and guy in the resteraunt were quite sullen. (97792600)

positive comments Sea view. Nice walk into town and to the pier.
negative comments Some staff were not overly friendly. Bit shabby interior / carpetting. Lacked atmosphere in bar etc.

Overall a comfortable stay with friendly and helpful staff; I noticed that the duty manager was most helpful to another couple staying in the hotel. (97371064)

positive comments The twin room was comfortable with a sea view and reasonable value for the money.
negative comments The single room was a small room at the back of the hotel but the cost per person was the same. I find this common with many UK hotels whereas overseas you book the room not for the number of guests.
