Grand Hôtel Du Palais Royal

Great location, clean hotel and good value for money. Cheap product range in bathroom - did not want to use them and for quick visits on business you want to have hand luggage only so no products greater than 100 ml. Difficult to get drinks and food out of breakfast making chilling in the foyer on wi fi in between meetings not a reasonable or long term proposal. (97396962)

The accommodation was very clean and tidy. The room was perfect for a weekend visit.

My only comment would be to have coffee and tea making facilities and an iron and iron board in the room.

Guest relations are excellent. All staff members we had contact with during a 5 night stay impressed with their friendly, responsive and helpful attitude. (97585176)

Facilities for the handicapped

Arrived two hours before scheduled room availability but was offered, and accepted, a room immediately as long as I didn't mind twin beds. Service at reception continued to be extremely helpful and friendly for the whole stay. No major problems and proximity to Louvre a big plus. (99290503)

Very good hotel for a city break. Latin Qaurter, Place de la Concorde and Seine all within walking distance. Very good transport links for bus tours and excursions/Close to Metro. Less than 10 euros by Taxi from Gard du Nord.Lots of shopping/restaurants/Bistros all within walking distance. (99932818)

Though small rooms are common in Europe, this room we stayed in was no doubt one of the best in Paris. We stayed in 8 hotels thoughout our honeymoon in 3 countries and this is on the top 3 of my favourites list.. First of all, the location is excellent. It is just a hundred metre away from the metro- Palais Royal station, and so so so near the Louvre museum. It is about 10 min walk away from the Galleries Lafayette shopping areas and all around, there are nice restaurants. Stepping in, we were amazed at the cosiness and cleanliness of the room. It is adequately sized, not small at all, not what many reviews had said, and the room we stayed in looks entirely different from the photos too. It looks newly renovated. The counter staff have a great attitude. They are friendly, helpful and can speak excellent english too. we didn't try the hotel breakfast as we went out very early, but it certainly looks good, with a great variety of food. We have so much to say... but it's hard to describe in words, only 1 more sentence for the hotel: Excellent! We really love our stay in your hotel!

The lobby looks a little plain. Perhaps more can be done to build up the ambience during the festive season. The rooms are nice and cosy, it would be terrific if the lobby makes us feel welcomed and warm. Also, it would be wonderful if the air con is not centrally switched off during winter. Let it be optional to us, because the room can be a little stuffly when we on the heater during winter season.
